Adventures around Colombia with Fulbrighter, Thomas Pepe

Thomas Pepe is currently on a Fulbright Grant to Columbia. He works in the English Department at The National Training Center (SENA), a public institution with a variety of vocational programs including technology and business administration and management. It is a free educational and vocational program with 127 campuses, open to Colombian citizens, and now offered to Venezuelans as well.

Pepe shares that he enjoys teaching at SENA and that his days are full of a lot of laughter.

Chua earned degrees in English: Language & Literature and Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. UW alumnus shares excitement for grad school & career as a Foreign Service Officer

University of Washington alumnus Gabriel Kornas, Class of 2019, has been selected as a 2022 Rangel Fellow within the Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship program. Kornas earned his B.A in International studies and minored in Law, Societies, and Justice in the interdisciplinary honors program.

He was an intern at the State Department when he first heard about the Rangel Fellowship.

26 UW students selected as Fulbright semi-finalists

For the 2022-2023 program year, there were 26 UW students selected as semi-finalists by the national selection committee for the Fulbright U.S. student program.

Of the 26 UW applicants selected this January, there were 20 undergraduate and 6 graduate students. Last September, our semi-finalists applied for grants to teach, study, and/or conduct research in their preferred countries of choice, which include South Korea, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Chile, Japan, Mexico, Spain, etc.
